Pretzel Salad

This recipe turned out incredible -- who would think pretzels in a salad?  Well, it works!  Simple and delicious.

Ingredients for the crust:  2 cups crushed pretzels, 3 tablespoons sugar, 3/4 cup butter (melted)

Directions:
Spread evenly into a 9-x13-x2 glass pan, bake 400 for 8 minutes.

Ingredients for the Cream Cheese Layer:  8 ounces cream cheese, 1 cup sugar

Directions:
Mix together until creamy.  Fold in regular size container of cool whip.  Spread evenly over cooled pretzel crust.

Ingredients for the Strawberry Topping:  2 packages of strawberry jello, 2 cups boiling water, 1 pint of frozen strawberries.

Directions:
Mix jello until dissolved.  Thaw strawberries (partially) and add to jello mixture.  Chill until "almost" thickened.  Pour over cheese layer and chill thoroughly.  Serve with homemade whipped cream. Yum!

Whipped Cream:
1 cup heavy whipping cream
1 teaspoon vanilla
3-4 tablespoons powdered sugar

Directions:
Whip heavy whipping cream until soft peaks form.  Add vanilla and powdered sugar.
