Sloppy Joe's

I used to make this all the time when we lived in Round Hill.....remember?  It's just a good quick meal on a night when everyone is going in different directions or you just want something simple and quick.   I like the "kick" from the chili sauce and jalapeno peppers -- both give this recipe that little special "something"!

Ingredients:
1 pound lean ground beef
1/2 cup chopped onion or to taste
1/4 cup chopped green pepper (optional)
3-4 jalapeno peppers
1 bottle (12 ounces) Heinz chili sauce
1/4 cup water
1 to 2 tablespoons brown sugar
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper

Directions:
In large skillet:  cook beef, onion, and peppers.  Drain all in colander.  Return to skillet and add remaining ingredients.

Simmer 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Serve on buns or your choice of bread

Yield:  about 4 servings to a pound of ground beef (4 oz. servings per person).  Remember to double everything if doing two pounds.
